OptEshield Glass

Glazing
Energy Efficient Toughened Safety Glass

OptEshield Glass boasts insulation properties 62% better than those of standard double glazing with revolutionary new U-Values as low as 1.1 W/m2K giving reduced energy costs and warmer homes. This innovative, 'low emissivity' glass has a unique, energy-saving coating, which both allows the sun's rays through, and reflects heat from fires and radiators back into a room. This environmentally friendly glass will dramatically cut heating bills and reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses being released into the atmosphere.

OptEshield Glass, which is perfectly neutral in color, is toughened using our own 'state of the art' process. This produces the highest quality toughened glass, with up to five times the durability of standard float glass, ideal for every safety application.

Whereas ordinary glass offers poor insulation, with uncomfortable cold spots close to windows a common problem, Viking OptEshield double glazed units offer a total solution.

OptEshield double glazed units offer energy savings as effective as triple glazing, cutting fuel bills and helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Changes to the Government Building Regulations aim to improve thermal efficiency of all buildings, and set out mandatory requirements for any replacement windows and windows in new structures.

With OptEshield Glass you can be sure your windows easily meet these requirements, while also bringing the benefits of a toughened safety glass.

OptEshield glass will carry a label to certify that it incorporates Energy Saving Glass, and is your assurance of quality and compliance.

Toughened Safety Glass

Toughened Glass for Every Application

The glass is heated at temperatures in excess of 600ºC and then rapidly cooled. By toughening this way, the surface of the glass is in a constant state of compression and inside of the glass there is an internal tension. This toughening treatment gives the glass almost five times greater durability over ordinary float glass.

It is recommended to use toughened glass in places where special durability and safety is required: schools, hospitals, children's day-care centers, sport premises and other public places.

Sealed Double Glazed Units

All sealed units are manufactured using state of the art technology. Computerized production equipment ensures top quality sealed units backed by a 10 year guarantee against sealed unit failure or breakdown.
